Blue Bell Just Brought Back the Flavor Fans Call ‘The Taste of Summer’

Written by

When it comes to Blue Bell’s ice cream flavors, the brand has found a winning formula: an iconic main ingredient, a complementary flavor swirl, and something to add a bit of textural excitement. From Oatmeal Cream Pie and Strawberry Toaster Pastry to its beloved holiday flavors, the Blue Bell blueprint produces hit after hit.

If you’ve browsed the freezer section lately, you’ve probably noticed that Blue Bell’s summer lineup is now available. This year it includes the runner-up from last year’s Great Scoop Revival Flavor Tournament, Cookie Cake ice cream, and—in honor of wedding season—Bride’s Cake and Groom’s Cake. And we can’t forget that Peaches & Homemade Vanilla, a seasonal stunner made with real peach chunks, is also back on shelves.

Now, another fan-favorite Blue Bell rotational ice cream is returning and it’s filled to the brim with a different fruit flavor.

Blue Bell Southern Blackberry Cobbler Ice Cream Returns

Blue Bell Southern Blackberry Cobbler ice cream is back on shelves for a limited time. The ice cream features the brand’s distinctive creamy base infused with blackberry flavor, flaky pie crust pieces, and a blackberry sauce swirl. (The trifecta strikes again!) Each half-gallon is filled with all the flavor of a blackberry cobbler, so if you’ve been craving the Southern favorite à la mode, now you can enjoy it all in one convenient scoop.

On Instagram, Blue Bell posted a photo of the ice cream, reminding fans to “savor the sweet moments” as it announced that its Southern Blackberry Cobbler ice cream is now back on shelves. Many took to the comments section to share their excitement for the relaunch. “One of my favorites!!!” wrote one thrilled fan. “Now THIS is ice cream,” said another. The positive comments kept rolling with one Instagrammer calling the cobbler-inspired ice cream a “GOATed [greatest of all time] flavor,” while another said it’s “the taste of summer.”

A few users expressed disappointment that they don’t have access to Blue Bell products, which are currently only available in 24 states. “I wish it was sold in Oregon because it is one of my favorite flavors!” wrote one person. Another chimed in to ask the Texas-based brand to come further north. “Please, come to Ohio!!!” they pleaded.

If you don’t live in an area where Blue Bell is sold in stores, don’t fret. The creamery delivers all over the U.S., so you can order all your favorite permanent and seasonal flavors online and have them delivered right to your doorstep.
