Whenever I make a grocery shopping trip to Publix, I always try to stay on track and shop from my list. That list usually consists of BOGO free items and other sales I want to take advantage of that week. However, there’s one thing that’s never on the list, but somehow always ends up in my buggy: Publix Bakery Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Slices.

The slices of cookie cake are sold in the bakery in a two-count near the other single slices of cake the bakery offers. I always make a pass by the table and if there is a pack left, I usually snag one for myself.
Each 2-count is priced at just $3.99 and the slices are just the right size for a little pick-me-up and feature a mixture of chocolate and white buttercream icing. Since they’re made fresh in the store’s bakery, the cake is always soft and tender. I’ve found that some grocery store cookie cake can be too thick and dried out, and the slices from Publix are the best I’ve found in a store bakery.
And I must admit that sometimes I indulge in a slice while still in the parking lot. Most stores even place a container of disposable forks near the individual slices, so this is the behavior they’re fully expecting.
In addition to the two-count pack of slices, the bakery also sells a whole round cookie cake for $13.99. If you’re having an impromptu get-together or need to grab a quick dessert on the way to a potluck, the larger decorated cake is a great, and just as delicious, option. But the two-count makes a great little “happy” for yourself, or a friend or family member who loves cookie cake, and could use a treat.
While you’ve likely tried the famous Key Lime Pie from the Publix bakery, I recommend giving the cookie cake a try next time you’re looking for a sweet treat.
