In a sweet move of marketing, the Microsoft-owned King is releasing a “Candy Crush” cookbook filled with recipes for desserts featured in the hit mobile game franchise.
Titled “Tasty: The Official Candy Crush Desserts Book,” the cookbook will launch Oct. 7 — just ahead of the sugar-filled Halloween holiday — with recipes for the game’s iconic Color Bomb Cake, Rainbow Twist Treats, Licorice Swirl Squares and more.

The product tie-in is described as “more than just a cookbook,” but rather “a sugar-coated extension of the sweet and treat-filled Candy Kingdom, a reminder that the fun doesn’t stop when you put your phone down.” In short: It’s a way to make sure that the free-to-play “Candy Crush” game is still on your mind when you stop playing so you keep coming back for more.
Per King, “Bursting with over 50 colorful, mouthwatering dessert recipes inspired by ‘Candy Crush’s’ most iconic candies, characters, and landscapes, fans can soon bake the game they love, right at home. From easy, everyday treats to a show-stopping Color Bomb Cake, each recipe comes with step-by-step instructions, vibrant photography, and playful nods to the Candy Kingdom, turning your kitchen into a candy-coated wonderland.”
Published by Insight Editions, the “Candy Crush” cookbook is priced at $27.99. Pre-orders are open now on Amazon.
“This cookbook brings the joy of ‘Candy Crush’ into real life, inviting everyone from loyal players to passionate bakers to get inspired in the kitchen, and to share the fun with friends and family,” “Candy Crush Saga” vice president of marketing Luken Aragon said. “It’s a celebration of creativity, color and fun, which is what ‘Candy Crush Saga’ is all about.”
