We all have brands we stand behind, and in the wide world of ice cream, everyone has their favorite. Ben & Jerry’s is one of my go-to ice cream brands of all time, and sometimes I walk into Trader Joe’s to buy one item and one item only: Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches.
Other times when I am craving a sweet treat, I skip the grocery store entirely and walk my way to the closest frozen yogurt shop. I don’t know why fro-yo has such a hold on me, but it does and I can’t stop.
However, now there’s one product that makes me think twice about my ice cream order. Our editors love it. Our Allstars love it. And I finally tried it for Allrecipes’ 2025 Golden Cart Awards. I was quite taken by the dessert, giving it a strong recommendation for one of the best frozen treats of the year. The dessert comes from a brand I was skeptical about—until now.
Magnum’s Mini White Chocolate & Cookies Ice Cream Bar
Allrecipes / Magnum
I’m not going to lie: Magnum Ice Cream is a brand I’ve skipped at the grocery store for years—and not for any good reason. The brand is somewhat unfamiliar to me. I didn’t grow up eating it, and it felt like something my grandparents loved rather than something a kid could enjoy.
But one of its flavors changed my mind about the brand: Mini White Chocolate & Cookies Ice Cream Bars. They are a smashing success in my opinion. The dessert received the Golden Cart award for Best Frozen Treat, and there are plenty of reasons why.
My Honest Review of Magnum’s Mini White Chocolate & Cookies Ice Cream Bar
This dessert is for cookie lovers like me. The bar tastes similar to your favorite cookies and cream desserts, but with a more pronounced buttery, white chocolate flavor. You don’t see as many desserts in the freezer aisle dipped in white chocolate, so it’s a more unique option.
The bar is rich, but not overly sweet. The item comes filled with vanilla ice cream swirled in a chocolate ganache, then the bar is dipped into white chocolate and finished with rich dark chocolate pieces. The result is a bar with great competing textures: smooth, creamy ice cream encased in a white cookie shell that offers a delightful crunch.
It’s a success not only because of the flavors but also the quality of the ingredients. The dessert feels a little nicer than your average ice cream bar, and it does not seem like Magnum is skimping on the quality of the white chocolate. Plus, one bar is the perfect size to satisfy my sweet tooth.
The 6-count box is available at most grocery stores for around $8, which is less than $1.50 per bar. If you want a new indulgent dessert or something to beat the heat, this is a great option.
Now, I’m curious what other Magnum products I’ve missed out on for so long.
