Coq au vin feels so classically fall, complete with rich red wine, juicy chicken thighs, and plenty of garlic, mushrooms, and of course, wine. “I wish I had leftovers. This was sooooo good!! The sauce was incredible,” says Linda Adams Dolge. “The chicken was melt in your mouth. It was just a party going on in your mouth all the way around. So easy but so fancy.”

Associate editor Patty Kaowthumrong can’t wait to make this simple sweet potato dump cake for dessert, but it just might find its way onto the holiday table. “Made this for thanksgiving and my family loved it. Gonna make this again next year, but use fresh roasted sweet potatoes like you mentioned to make it a little less sweet.” —JoyfulUdon9953

Apple Butter Gooey Butter Cake

We love Gooey Butter Cake at Allrecipes—and we love Apple Butter too. That’s why we simply can’t resist an Apple Butter Gooey Butter Cake when we see it. “I wanted a recipe to use some homemade apple butter and this was IT,” says Land of Yip. “I did reduce the sugar and spices because I used my homemade apple butter which is already heavily spiced. I added some apple pie filling in dollops across the top, but this was great with or without the extra apples. Will definitely make again.”

Incredibly Moist Pumpkin Bread

Natalia Titanov

Fall means all things spiced quick-bread, from the best-ever banana bread to pumpkin, of course. “Just made this because I needed A LOT of pumpkin bread very quickly,” said senior editor Corey Williams. “SO easy and great for gifting!”

Who needs banana bread when there’s banana cake? “I didn’t think that a better recipe existed besides my grandmother’s, but boy was I wrong!” says Tracy C. “This banana cake was unbelievable. I took it to a family dinner and got rave reviews. Was told that this is the best banana cake ever had by one guest and my grandfather said he would even eat it without the icing!”

Tarte aux Pommes Normande (French Apple Tart)

Caroline A.

“I’ve been looking for a classic Normandy Apple Tart recipe. This is the first one I have found that really tastes like the real thing. I made as directed. No changes. Creamy Beef Tips with Egg Noodles

France C

“The directions, prep time, and simplicity make this a perfect meal for those with little time to fix for two to four people. It is perfect and easy. I did not have egg noodles, used linguini instead but will try again with egg noodles.” —Bonita Vergara Jones
