Tyson Just Launched a First-Of-Its-Kind Chicken Nugget

Written by

Friends, football season is officially here. And if the first week left you scrambling to pull together a game day spread, Tyson has you covered for the season ahead.

Some of us may be all about the sweets this time of year, but if the savory side of the snack table is your specialty, there’s a new arrival in the freezer aisle you’ll want to add to your roster—that is, depending on which team is on your screen.

Tyson Debuts New Football-Inspired Chicken Nuggets

Tyson is giving its signature chicken nuggets yet another football spin.

The chicken brand has always had fun with shapes—think Dino Nuggets or the seasonal pumpkins, ghosts, and bats that show up around Halloween. But earlier this year, Tyson took things to the next level with its first-ever, team-themed nuggets for the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys. That move pretty much opened the door for a whole new category of game day snacks.

So now, with the season in full swing, this latest football-inspired lineup feels like the next natural play. After all, nuggets are already a tailgate staple, so why not give them an extra boost of team spirit?

The new nuggets keep the same all-white meat chicken and crispy breading, but bring three new NFL franchises into the mix:

  • Denver Broncos Nuggets are shaped like the team’s galloping mascot, Thunder.
  • Philadelphia Eagles Nuggets take the form of the team’s fierce, fighting bird.
  • Green Bay Packers Nuggets are shaped like footballs and stuffed with cheese, for a first-of-its-kind nugget that nods to the legendary cheesehead fandom.

“Sorry you other teams. Packers get the cheese,” one fan joked on Instagram.

Whether you cheer “Go Pack Go,” “Fly Eagles Fly,” or “Broncos Country,” these nuggets bring a little extra team pride to the table without adding to your prep work.

And don’t worry about running into your rivals in the frozen aisle. Each team’s nuggets will only be sold in their home regions: Broncos in Denver, Eagles in Philadelphia, and Packers in Wisconsin. You’ll find the specialty nuggets in four-pound bags in the frozen section, as well as at each team’s home stadium.

“At Tyson Foods, we continue to innovate, creating delicious products that bring people and communities together,” shared Kristina Lambert, Chief Growth Officer of Tyson Foods, in a press release. “As loyal fans seek out new ways to showcase their team pride, we welcome the Broncos, Packers, and Eagles to our custom nugget lineup where we deliver fun and flavorful ways to celebrate fandom.”

Of course, other NFL fans are already calling for their own versions. “LA Chargers!!!” one fan pleaded on Instagram. “Where are the Buffalo Bills?” asked another.

With three new teams joining the nugget lineup, maybe there’s hope the rest of the NFL will eventually see their logos in breaded form, too. But just like the season itself, no one really knows what’s coming next.
