Burger King Has a New Meal That Has Fans Rushing to the Drive-Thru

Written by

Key Takeaways

  • Burger King is releasing a new themed meal in the U.S. on Sept. 16, complete with six spooky collectibles that fans can’t stop buzzing about.
  • The limited-edition meal taps into spooky season nostalgia by featuring a beloved mystery-solving crew.

Over the past few years, Halloween has been on the up and up. Ever since McDonald’s brought back its Boo Buckets in 2022, celebrating the spooky holiday at fast food restaurants seems to be cool again. Last year, we saw multiple brands release special Halloween-themed meals and products, like Wendy’s Frosty Frights and Burger King’s entire “Addams Family”-themed menu.

We might not have word on the status of Mickey D’s Boo Buckets this year, but its competitors have been quick with their Halloween launches. Wendy’s has both its “Wednesday”-themed meal, complete with a Raven’s Blood Frosty and four Dips of Dread, and the returning Frosty Frights kids’ meal. Now, Burger King is releasing a new meal that will have both kids and kids at heart shrieking with delight.

What’s new? Scooby-Doo!

Burger King Launches New Scooby-Doo King Jr. Meal

Zoinks! A new Scooby-Doo and the rest of Mystery Inc. are headed to Burger King for a limited time. BK is releasing a Scooby-Doo-themed King Jr. Meal this fall, and even the adults are racing to the drive-thru to grab it.

The new King Jr. Meal features six collectible Mystery Inc. toys, posed for trick-or-treating and each with a spooky, removable Halloween mask. The toys include Scooby-Doo with a mummy mask, Shaggy with a skeleton mask, Velma with a witch mask, Daphne with a cat mask, Fred with a Frankenstein mask, and the Headless Horseman with a ghost mask.

One of six Scooby-Doo toys can be found in every King Jr. Meal, including the Double Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger, Hamburger, or six-piece Chicken Nugget meal. In addition to the entrée and toy, each meal includes your choice of side (applesauce, fries, or onion rings) and a drink.

While the meal is technically for the kiddos, it’s the Scoob-loving adults who seem to be the most excited about the new meal.

“This is adorable and I can’t wait to get them (I’m an adult lol),” wrote one Reddit user.

“I haven’t eaten at BK since the Pokémon toys back in the early 2000s. And yet, I will go back for this,” wrote another.

Burger King’s new Scooby-Doo-themed King Jr. Meal is hitting menus on Sept. 16, where it will be available for a limited time. We’re not sure if BK has a larger Halloween-themed menu release planned for later this fall, but even if the Scooby-Doo toys are all we see, jinkies, we’re still excited.
