Salt Shed, which has branches in Church Street and a barbecue beach bar opposite West Pier, ranked 20th on the list put together by World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants.
Food served at the restaurant includes BBQ glazed pastrami steak, burgers, chips and a range of house sauces from peppercorn sauce to chimichurri.
It opened its beach bar on the seafront last year.
Hundred Burgers in Valencia, Spain, came first, while Bleecker Burger in London came second.
Sharing the news on social media, the restaurant said: “Last year our Salt Shed burger was named the best in the world.
“This year it came 20th.
“Same burger, same love, new ranking. And to be honest, from a little Greenwich market stall that did not even serve burgers, we are just buzzing (and find it funny) to be on the list at all.
“When we put a new dish on, our rule is simple: if this was your death row meal, what would it look like.
“Rankings come and go, but the real winner is whoever gets the next bite.
“Big shout out to all the other English finalists, we come up in the same streets and can confirm their burgers are delicious.”
