This Mexican Dessert Topping at Costco Might Be Your New Sweet Obsession

Written by

There’s something about caramel that seems to belong with fall. Whether it’s drizzled over apples, swirled into pumpkin treats, or topping a scoop of vanilla ice cream, that nutty, warm sweetness always feels like the season. And if you’re a coffee fan, a splash of caramel in a latte is about as comforting as it gets.

With Costco’s latest find, you can bring those café-style flavors home. The NaturaSolCajeta is creamy, rich, and versatile enough to use at any time of day. Whether you’re grabbing a quick breakfast or winding down with dessert, it’s perfect with everything.

Check it out in this TikTok shared on September 26:

This looks like a must-have two kind of buy! Unsurprisingly, @costcohotfinds reports that it’s “insanely good!“ Even something as simple as sliced apples looked elevated once she poured it over the top.

Shoppers chimed in with their own ideas on how to use it best. Viewer @extrachorizo proposed, “cajeta and espresso.” Another suggested it would be perfect in an iced latte. Others recommended stirring it into regular coffee, spreading it on toast, pouring it over pancakes or waffles, or pairing it with peanuts and other nuts. A few couldn’t resist saying it’s so good you might just want to eat it straight from the spoon. I’m all for that idea!

What Is Cajeta?

Cajeta is a traditional Mexican caramel sauce made with goat’s milk. It’s slow-simmered, so the milk and sugar yield a deeper, richer flavor than the caramel sauces most of us are accustomed to.  According to America’s Test Kitchen, goat’s milk brings a hint of tang that cuts through the sugar, making the sauce taste balanced and complex instead of one-note.

That difference is why cajeta stands out. It’s smooth and creamy, like caramel, but the flavor has more depth, with a nutty, slightly tangy, and layered quality that makes it feel gourmet. In Mexico, it’s been a pantry staple for generations, used everywhere from simple fruit pairings to decadent cakes and pastries.

We all know fall is about pumpkin spice and apple everything, but Costco’s cajeta feels like a new tradition waiting to happen. A drizzle here or there is enough to make the everyday feel special.
