Firehouse Subs Just Brought Back the Sandwich Fans Wait All Year For

Written by

Key Takeawways

  • A fan-favorite sandwich is back at Firehouse Subs, but only for a limited time.
  • The sub chain is also launching three new menu items.

The day after a holiday comes with all of the exciting culinary possibilities that only a fridge full of leftovers can offer—especially Thanksgiving. Turkey soup, casseroles, pot pie, stuffing muffins, and potato pancakes are just waiting to be created from what’s left in the fridge. But maybe the best Thanksgiving leftover dish is one of the easiest: the Thanksgiving sandwich

What goes in a Thanksgiving sandwich can vary, but it usually contains turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing between two slices of bread, often toasted. It comes together quickly and is customizable based on the available leftovers.

The saddest thing about a Thanksgiving sandwich is that you usually have to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to sink your teeth into one. But now that fall has brought the colors of changing leaves and a chill to the air, it’s tough to wait another month and a half to enjoy the flavors of Thanksgiving in a tasty handheld package.

Firehouse Subs understands our dilemma, so it designed a sub to give us what we crave.

Thanksgiving Turkey Sub Returns to Firehouse Subs

This year, Firehouse Subs is getting into the holiday spirit well ahead of schedule. The sandwich chain has brought back one of its most popular seasonal items: the Thanksgiving Turkey Sub. The limited-time order features layers of turkey breast slices, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo, all served hot on a toasted sub roll.

In addition to its holiday-inspired handheld, Firehouse Subs is launching three new items to make it a perfect meal. Guests can now order a side of garlic-flavored gravy, perfect for dipping the seasonal sub. The chain is also launching Extra Cheesy Mac & Cheese made with cavatappi noodles and a blend of six different cheeses, including, American, Cheddar, Neufchâtel, Monterey Jack, queso, and Asadero cheeses. And to top it all off, fans can snag the new Double Chocolate Chip Cookie filled with semi-sweet and white chocolate chunks.

For this launch, a portion of every Thanksgiving Turkey Sub sale goes to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which awards lifesaving equipment to first responders and public safety organizations. So you can satisfy your Thanksgiving sandwich craving and do a little good at the same time.

My Honest Review of Firehouse Subs’ Thanksgiving Turkey Sub

All it took was one bite of Firehouse Subs’ Thanksgiving Turkey Sub to make me a fan. It had all the elements of the day-after-Thanksgiving sandwich, but with a fresh, delicious taste.

I was most looking forward to the stuffing, and Firehouse Subs did not disappoint. It tasted like my childhood favorite boxed stuffing. When paired with jellied cranberry sauce, it was the perfect nostalgic bite. The turkey slices were flavorful and juicy. Overall, I’d recommend this sandwich to anyone with a hankering for cozy holiday food.
