Costco’s New Dessert Has Fans Saying the Store ‘Nailed It Once Again’

Written by

If we’re not picking up a $5 rotisserie chicken or browsing the latest releases, we’re probably drooling over Costco desserts. The big box retailer regularly releases some of the most delectable treats imaginable. Pumpkin Streusel Muffins, Variety Dessert Bars, Caramel Apple Strudel Bites, and so much more—Costco really delivers on our wildest dessert dreams.

But you won’t just find these sweet treats in the bakery department or the frozen aisle; you’ll also find them freshly made by Costco team members at the food court. Yes, in addition to big slices of pizza and $1.50 hot dogs, the Costco food court sells different desserts. Through the years, the store has offered fresh churros, chocolate chip cookies, tasty fruit smoothies, and blended coffee drinks, to name a few.

Costco’s latest food court dessert is something extra special. It combines three classic dessert components into one tasty, creamy bite. While we’re likely going to shop at the bulk goods retailer very soon anyway, we think this treat may warrant a visit of its own.

Costco Introduces New Caramel Brownie Sundae

Costco’s beloved food court is expanding its menu. A new delicious dessert is now available in the U.S., and fans say it “looks incredible.”

The new Caramel Brownie Sundae features a base of vanilla, chocolate, or swirl soft serve ice cream with chunks of brownie bites stirred throughout. A salted caramel sauce is ribboned in the cup and throughout the ice cream, making it easy to taste the ooey-gooey caramel in every bite. The sundaes are served in 12-ounce cups and are selling for $2.99. Other Costco sundae variations include strawberry or chocolate.

“There was no shortage of brownie bites in this dessert,” says Instagram user Costcohotfinds, who shared the video above of the sundae. “The little [brownie] bites were so soft. I can’t even describe to you how happy this makes me. And I have to say, this paired perfectly with a slice of pizza.”

Costco fans are getting excited to try the new dessert, with several stating it is not yet at their local warehouse. “Great, I just went yesterday, [and] now I’ll have to go again,” shared one Instagram user. “It was amazing, [I] had it yesterday,” shared another Instagram user. “Those brownies. Omg.”

If this combo looks familiar, it may be because Sam’s Club has sold a similar sundae for years. Similar to Costco’s, the Sam’s Club sundae also has a base of vanilla ice cream, with caramel sauce and big chunks of brownie. But it sells for about half the price—$1.58. Sam’s Club and Costco are in a copycat competition once again, but the customers are the real winners here.

Next time you’re shopping at Costco, make a stop at the food court to see if your local warehouse already has this delicious treat. It would make a great addition to a slice of pizza or a $1.50 hot dog.
