The DiGiorno Pizza That Sold Out Within Minutes Is Back

Written by

There are a few essential dishes that always appear on my Thanksgiving dinner table, like crispy onion-topped green bean casserole and roasted turkey with savory gravy. While I love Thanksgiving dinner and all the delights it brings to my kitchen, it’s never crossed my mind to take the components of those dishes, like cranberries and green beans, and throw them on top of a pizza.

Well, lucky for us, it seems DiGiorno decided to take that idea and run with it. The brand is getting us holiday-ready with the return of its fan-favorite Thanksgiving Pizza, available now in the freezer aisle for a limited time.

The company behind the iconic slogan, “It’s not delivery, it’s DiGiorno,” wowed fans when it released frozen pizzas topped with classic Turkey Day ingredients, like turkey, gravy, diced sweet potatoes, and green beans.

The clever Thanksgiving-inspired frozen pizzas were only available online and in select retailers, and sold out fast—leaving fans hungry for more. Last year, one fan called the pizza “perfect to bring to a Friendsgiving party,” while another said the frozen food item was “all they wanted this year” for Thanksgiving dinner. Another simply lamented, “I’ve been trying for 3 years now to get one.”

If you didn’t manage to snag a pizza in years past, then now is your chance. Back by popular demand, DiGiorno’s limited-edition Thanksgiving pizza has finally arrived in grocery stores. The pizza, which features a thick Detroit-style crust with mozzarella, Cheddar cheese, and a gravy drizzle, is topped with green beans, crispy onions, dried cranberries, and roasted turkey.

On DiGiorno’s own post, announcing this year’s return, fans are more than ready: “Hallelujah. Loved this one.” and “RUNNING.”

The list of retailers carrying the viral frozen pie isn’t yet listed; the brand simply stated, “maybe you’ve already spotted us out in the wild…tag us and tell us where you found it!” Editor Andrea Lobas spotted it at a local Giant Eagle for $9.99.

The specialty pizza is a unique way to sneak in some Thanksgiving flavors before the holiday. It would also make a pretty enticing appetizer to serve to guests at any gathering leading up to the big day. If you end up trying it and loving it, a copycat Thanksgiving pizza may be the best use of Thanksgiving leftovers yet.
