PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – For this week’s Daybreak Kitchen recipe, Chef Jared Lee joined us to show Henry an easy dessert.

Ingredients
- Filling
- 4 apples, chopped and peeled
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- Dutch topping
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup butter, melted but not hot
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine chopped and peeled apples, apple cider, and sugar in a pan on medium high heat
- Add orange juice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon
- Let combine and cook down
- Combine flour, sugar, rolled outs, and cinnamon in a sperate bowl
- Add butter and mix till combined in pea-sized clumps
- Let apples boil for 5-7 minutes until fork tender
- Add cornstarch slurry, one to one cornstarch to water ration to apple mixture
- Put apple filling into serving dish, top with Dutch toping, place in oven at 350 degrees for around 10 minutes
- Top with ice cream and serve
