About the Pizza Challenge:
Pizza is a favorite food of so many Oklahomans because it is so versatile and everyone finds the pizza perfect for them. Pizza for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! It’s always a hit.
Pizza also highlights so many of Oklahoma’s agricultural products. Whether your favorite pizza is cheese, pepperoni, hamburger, or an all veggie pizza, all of those ingredients are grown or raised right here in Oklahoma, starting with the wheat to make the crust.
The Pizza Challenge allows your students to develop their own pizza recipe, identify their target audience, create marketing materials for their specific pizza, and learn about the agricultural industry in Oklahoma. This cross-curricular experience will reinforce core academic concepts in math, science, and ELA, while exposing students to career opportunities in our food system.
Eligibility
Pre-K through 12th grade students in Oklahoma.
Students may work in groups or as a classroom.
Multiple groups or classrooms from the same school may participate.
Registration is required in the respective grade divisions.
Homeschool groups and private schools are also eligible to participate.
