Kristi Mertsock probably had the worst timing when it came to taking over a small business — right before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic — but Mertsock made it work and now, her enterprise, Curly’s Chicken House, is celebrating its 70th anniversary.
Mertsock’s father, Scott Shaw, purchased Curly’s in 1999 and Mertsock and her husband Paul bought the restaurant from Shaw about 20 years later.
