CHICAGO (WLS) — Just in time before National Dessert Month ends, Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse is unveiling a fresh take on its famous 23-Layer Chocolate Cake.
Pastry chef Laura Gonzales joined ABC7 Eyewitness News morning show to debut the dessert’s new look. It is a modern twist on the restaurant’s most celebrated sweet. The updated recipe features richer dark chocolate, a hint of espresso, and a glossy new finish.
“The 23-Layer Cake is part of our story,” Gonzales said. “We wanted to keep what people love, but elevate every bite.”
The restaurant’s signature chocolate sauce, she added, can also be used at home for drizzling or layering into other desserts.
Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse has locations in Chicago, Connecticut, Washington and Seoul, South Korea.
