TikTok user claims viral salad would cost $120 in South Jersey.

TikTok users are in a frenzy, and surprisingly, it’s over an antipasto salad and a miscommunication regarding a picnic invite.

In case the drama has not yet reached your “FYP” the drama kicked off after user folkmedicineremedies shared her experience of going to a neighbor’s get-together.

Thinking she was invited to the Fourth of July party, she showed up with an antipasto dish, a traditional Italian starter dish, only to be met with cold shoulders instead of warm welcomes.

TikTok users chimed in, with some calling out the disrespect and others focusing on the dish. One user in particular, pearlmania500 was in shock at the situation and even spoke on the cost of the dish in our area.

 “If I went to the Cherry Hill, New Jersey Wegmans, this would be $120,” he said.

And actually, he wasn’t far off.

On the New Jersey Wegmans website, we attempted to recreate the dish, and the total came to $104.95, which is not a budget-friendly option. Here’s what went into the pricing behind the viral dish:

  • Marinated artichoke hearts
  • Roasted red peppers

  • Cherry tomatoes or sun-dried tomatoes
  • Crusty Italian bread or crostini
  • Breadsticks

  • Balsamic vinegar drizzle
  • Pickled vegetables
