“Autumn squash soup” also landed on the list for top-trending “cozy” recipes.

Search is up for apple cider recipes, white chicken chili recipes, and pumpkin cinnamon rolls.
I am the first to admit: the end-of-summer blues are real. The days are shorter, the weather’s cooler, and I’ve already been hit with my first fall cold. However, there is one silver lining that makes the seasonal shift actually worth it—and no, it’s not the PSL. It’s finally (!!!) soup season. We can order French onion or broccoli cheddar without judgmental side-eye!
And while sure, everyone’s soup order might vary a little, Google just revealed the most popular recipe in the U.S. right now, and it’s seriously inspiring my weekly dinner lineup. According to a recent trends report from the site, squash is the top searched fall vegetable soup this month—beating out potato, pumpkin, butternut squash, and tomato for the coveted top spot.

It even landed on Google’s list of the top trending “cozy” recipes, finishing fifth. Here’s the full ranking:
Maybe I’m the only one feeling the fall hesitation? Internet users seem ready for crisp leaves and pumpkin desserts. Search interest for “organic apple picking” popped off over the past month, and “apple picking” was the top-trending search for “fruit farm.” Meanwhile, interest in “hay rides” rose 140 percent, and “pumpkin patch” spiked 110 percent.
It’s also no wonder folks are googling apple picking! They need apples for all the apple cider recipes that are trending, too. In the past month, apple cider donut cake, apple cider doughnuts, apple cider braised pork, apple cider cookies, and apple cider gummies have been on the minds of Americans!
Oh, and in case you needed any more fall recipe inspo, “white chicken chili recipe” and “pumpkin cinnamon rolls” are hot right now too.
Now, if you need an autumnal bevvy to go with your squash soup (or chicken pot pie, or white chicken chili), great news: we just asked a bunch of bartenders to give us the 411 on what to order. An Old Fashioned, Manhattan, and Hot Buttered Rum are allllll on our list for the season.
